Internet Marketing Course – 4 Tips to Being Successful with Using Squidoo Marketing to Make Money Online

Written by admin on November 19th, 2010

Squidoo is a wonderful free online marketing tool to use for promoting affiliate products or driving traffic to your personal website. These are the 2 common means to make money online using Squidoo Marketing.

Most full-time Internet Marketers I know of will opt to have their own websites so they have more control over the look and feel of their web pages. There are however, a number of Internet Marketers, especially those who also hold a regular Nine to Five jobs, who simply do not want the hassle or put in the additional efforts to maintain a website. For this handful of Internet Marketers, Squidoo is the perfect solution: no hosting cost, no domain name registration or renewal, no maintaining and debugging of WordPress Themes, and no overwhelming knowledge of html programming needed.

Having said that, signing up for a Squidoo account does not make you money automatically if you don’t follow a few simple rules. Following are 4 important tips to take note of.

1. Look for a Hungry Niche and find an Effective Product to meet that Niche

Your income is directly proportional to your ability to solve the problems faced by other people. Good Doctors make a lot of money because they are effective in diagnosing an illness and prescribing the appropriate medication. Look around and you will find problems everywhere and people are looking for solutions, be it to lose weight or to learn how to potty train their kids.

Now, the problems do not have to be mega. It is our common daily needs that are often easier to resolve and overcome. Look for the woman who wants a good wax or the man who wants to learn how to do a waltz. Preferably, you should pick a niche which you have an interest in. Otherwise, you may give up before your first dollar rolls in.

2. Do Effective Keywords Research

It is important to use tools like Google’s keyword search tool to find out what do people typed on Search Engines to look for information. Carefully select the keywords and use them tactfully in your Squidoo lens post. This is a skill that must be learnt in order for your lens to be SEO friendly. You can have the best content on your Squidoo lens, but if the Search Engines give it a miss for whatever reason, it is as good as non-existent.

3. Content is Still King

Using effective keywords alone is not enough. Many Internet Marketers fall into the trap of keywords spamming and end up being “blacklisted” by the Search Engines. Learn how to write good contents by signing up for an Article Marketing course, for instance. Put in effort to ensure that all your Squidoo lens posts are well-received and your lens page will rise in ranking. You know what that equates to.

4. Promotion, Promotion, Promotion!

Do not neglect your Squidoo lens! It is as disastrous as ignoring your blog or your money making website. In my previous article, I talked about how to promote and drive traffic to your lens. Continue to do that on a regular basis. This is often easier for Internet Marketers who do not have multiple blogs to maintain, so their attention is fully focused on their Squidoo lenses. If you are just starting out, do not attempt to jump into multiple niches at one go. It is like building a house, ensuring its foundation, structure and completion before you go on to build another. Don’t spread yourself too thin.
