Initial Consultation
Once you arrive at the Total SkinCare Centre, you will be asked to fill out a patient information form. Afterwards, Dr. Arlette’s trained medical assistant will discuss the Botox treatment with you. Any concerns and questions should be raised up at this point. It is important to reveal any allergies or medical condition that might make you an unsuitable for this treatment.
As part of our procedure, the Total SkinCare Centre would also need to know if you’re taking any medication that may contradict the effects of the treatment.
The Botox Treatment
After the consultation, you can proceed immediately to the Botox clinic or wait a few days before the treatment. Dr Arlette and his nurse injector will always be available to take care of your treatment at the time of consultation or to best accommodate your schedule. Here at Total SkinCare Centre, our staff will be strictly supervised by Dr Arlette if they perform the procedure.
Preparing for Botox
Patients will be seated in a reclining chair, similar to the ones used at the dentist’s. Dr Arlette or the nurse will ask you to move or contract certain facial muscles. Based on the desired outcome, the Dr. Arlette will mark the areas to be injected. No anesthesia is necessary in a Botox treatment..
Expect some level of discomfort after the injection. The pain is usually minimal and will only last for a short time. The actual treatment only takes around 10 minutes to complete. Some people even take it on their lunch break. Regular activities can resume immediately after you leave the doctor’s office. Just make sure not to massage it; avoid touching your face as well.
